Unique and fun school portraits for preschools, kindergartens and daycare centers in the Minneapolis, St. Paul and surrounding metro area.

Glimpses of Soul Photography. (Mandy and her trusty nose-wiping, hair-combing assistant!)

Your school. Outdoors in a shaded area or indoors in an area with good natural light.

It’s fun! I work one-on-one with each child, talking to them and making them feel comfortable until they relax and give me a real expression. There’s no uncomfortable posing and nothing is rushed. I often spend time in the classrooms, just hanging out and letting the younger kids get used to me before we do their photos.
Working with just a few children at a time means teachers don’t have to disrupt their daily schedules and classes don’t have to spend time waiting in long, boring lines before they’re photographed.
It’s also a more personal experience for the parents. I do bring an assistant with me but I am the only photographer and I’m also the one that fields phone calls and emails and does the behind-the-scenes work so I know all about every child, every order, every inquiry. I’ve gone on to photograph family sessions for many of the preschool families and it’s so much fun to get to know everyone and see how they progress from year to year.
But the most important WHY is, of course, GREAT PHOTOS! Natural, authentic portraits of children being who they are.

The timing is flexible based on your needs. School portraits are typically done in the Fall, although many schools do an additional round of less formal photos in the Spring. (That would be a great time to introduce Glimpses of Soul’s unique style of school photos if you’re worried how less traditional work will be received by parents.) However, I’m also available in the summer, just let me know!

Contact me to inquire about having Glimpses of Soul come photograph your preschool. I’m happy to discuss your needs and work with you to come up with a plan that works for you. If you’re a parent with a preschool child and are interested in having candid school portraits like the ones above, please share this info with your school’s management!
