I have loads of sessions coming up which I am extra excited about but it’s going to be a busy time so I’m trying to sneak some onto the blog every now and then. Kayla and her friend Jena (for another entry!) came together and boy did these girls know how to work it. That makes my job so easy. Of course, it also doesn’t hurt when they are gorgeous and have beautiful eyes, either. I only have time to post a few right now, but I do enjoy having a chance to photograph high school seniors in between my kids work – they’re so good at holding still. :)

Brfandi: Wow, her eyes are amazing! Stunning girl.

.K: MK, these are seriously awesome! That red wall is way cool. Really well done!

This week I got to one-up my trend of photographing other photographer’s families. In this case, not only is Mom a photographer (she’s got an account on Flickr which is where she found me), but daughter is, too! We met downtown this past week to do some senior photos for Emma who will be graduating with the Class of 2010 and then heading to MCTC to pursue a career in fashion photography.

It was definitely fun for me to do something a little different, discover a couple new shooting places and work with someone who knew how to strike a pose. She’s ready for the fashion world already.

If you’re a regular blog reader (i.e. you’re my mom), you may recognize these lovely ladies from the Teens 4 Charity shoot I did earlier. They’re sisters and their equally lovely mother is one of the adult leaders of the group. They met me at the Guthrie for a session just for them. It’s always such a nice change to work with gorgeous ladies who take direction well. Then I have to make fewer funny faces.

It’s also really fun when families are up for something a little different. These definitely aren’t your everyday portraits but how much fun are they? Mom was excited at the spots we were shooting in and I hope she’s equally excited with the results.

The best thing is, Mom does professional photographs every year which I think is so cool and so important! Hopefully I will be seeing these gals at least a few more times before they’re all grown up.

Photographing this Edina senior was easy from the start because not only is she super cute, I didn’t have to ask her if there was a frog on my head to get her to look at the camera or say “fart” in order to make her smile. Plus she’s super into canoeing and does crazy things like go on 30 and 50 day canoe excursions so that gave us plenty to talk about while shot. She’s going to the Arctic Circle next summer! Crazy, I tell you. But she was very laid back and definitely fun to shoot and it’s always neat to find someone who is passionate about what they do.

She made the trek from Edina to St. Paul and we headed to Phalen Park so we could do some water and naturey type shots. Because of the nice weather, I think most of St. Paul was also at Phalen Park but we managed to snag a few not-so-populated areas

Good luck in your senior year, Zoe!

LBK: Not so hard after all! Nice job.
