Ready for another cutie?

The newborns in all of these posts are less than two weeks old, the ideal time to for them to be photographed. Don’t wait until your little one is born to set up a newborn session; call ahead and we’ll get you a tentative date on the schedule around your due date and be flexible from there.
stalker: do you drug these kids to get them to sit so still? and i like the little cute puckered lips this babeh has.
mk: Yes, with animal tranquilizers. But we don't talk about that.
tara k: breathtaking, my friend. you amaze me!
mk: My mom isn't sure it's okay to joke about animal tranquilizers. So, just for the record, that was a joke! The babies are 100% safe at all times and just sleepy. That's why it's good to set up a session within the first two weeks, when they're sleepier and curlier.
Katie Williams: gorgeous - love the tree stump one!!
Mary: I want to kiss that little one:) so cute, I have never seen a baby sleep in a log but now I wonder why.....Adorable!
Amy: The tree stump and use of grass gives me hope that you are getting closer to using cabbage leaves.
sarah: truly truly loving these. lol @ animal tranquilizers! gorgeous shots.
I had the opportunity to spend a few days in San Diego, learning from some first-class newborn photographers (baby folding class, I’ve been calling it). I’m so, so excited to come back and get to work on some Minneapolis newborns. Below are just a few of the photos I took while in San Diego.

Jennifer Chaney: Ohhh you're so lucky! That last one is a pose I need to learn b/c I can't do it to save my life. Wish I had been along side you. Beautiful work. Just love it!
Jen: Jenn...you & me both! I was just trying that post this morning! Ugh! These are stunning images. Would love to hear your thoughts on the WS! I just gotta get there!
LK: Good folding! They look so squeezable!!
Rachel Clare: oh my good heavens. these are divine!
Sweet dreams. :)

This session was actually a gift from Gage’s Aunt who contacted me a few months ago to ask if she could buy a gift certificate for her sister. What an awesome gift! (Okay, I may be a bit biased, but still.) Here they are together.

Gage was a sleepy little guy, already sleeping when I got to the session and stayed that way for most of it. That makes my job easy!

Now then, I love all these newborns I’ve been doing lately but it’s time for someone to have a girl, okay? :)
Jeannette: These are amazing!
Jennifer Chaney: ohhhh girl, your newborns are really lovely! The close up is just perfect!
Maria Hays: Look at those perfect little lips! Beautiful.
LK: Isn't he squishable!
This photo makes me laugh so much. We were doing family portraits on the front step and Elsie got up and walked straight towards me until her nose was touching the end of my lens. Here she is mid-trip and I love her expression. (Later in the session, she ran off with my macro lens and eventually demanded my camera, too…budding photographer, perhaps?)

Little Henry was a total trooper. Once he decided he’d be satisfactorily fed, he fell asleep quite quickly and even continued to sleep during Miss Elsie’s vigorous loving of her new baby brother.

I love that mom wheeled out this bassinet so that we could do some photos in there. How cute is Henry, all burrito-like in his fancy bassinet?

(Confession: Nearly every time I edit photos of a swaddled baby, Raffi’s song Baby Beluga pops into my head, except I sing Baby Burrito. The rest of the lyrics don’t work out so well but I spend way too much time with that song stuck in my head.)
.K: That first picture is adorable (well, ok, so are the others)
Heidi Fazio: BEAUTIFUL Mandy!! Love the last one in the bassinet!
Kristi Larson: How precious!
Orange Ruffy: It's a good thing I can't have anymore babies, you make them look so darn sweet angelic. then I remember they will be 16 some day and I feel better
Colette: I love these! The first, with the little girl, just cracks me up!
LK: Wow! What else can I say? Each one brings a new "Awwwwwwww!"
stalker: they're all adorable. i like the poses/props in 2 and 5 the best.
Amy: knit me an amniotic sack please?! Love them though, you are super duper talented lady. They make my ovaries pop a little though.
Rachel Clare: These are so gorgeous. Makes me want another one, and mine is only 3-months old!!
