Six months later and Cass is one! He’s grown a lot since our last session but still has those beautiful blue eyes. It’s so much fun to have repeat sessions because I love seeing kids as they grow and getting to hang out with people I already know. Besides, any family who wants to do a session in flip-flops is definitely a family I want to see again!

Not only did Cass’s family pick a fun spot for our session, but I got to accompany Cass on his first trip to the beach. Sand is never so exciting as when you’re one and seeing it for the first time.

At first he wanted to eat the rocks. Then he just wanted to pretend to eat the rocks and snicker while we tried to stop him.

Don’t they look like a perfect magazine family?

And a little something different…the soft sand and creamy baby skin was just calling for some lighting processing.

I thought it was especially cool to find out that Cass is already taking swimming lessons. I foresee lots of trips to the beach for this family this summer. :)

Maria Hays: What a happy little guy with such beautiful blue eyes! These are wonderful! I love the processing in your last two.

Jennifer Chaney: Oh those blue eyes are beautiful! What a great session - the little nakie shot in the water is my favorite. Lovely work!

LK: Super photos - and what a beautiful family!

rob: OMG, that's some crazy hair. he's an awesome kid!! The shots are gorgeous, like always!

mk: Isn't the hair awesome? I loved it...and it was windy so that helped even more.

Joseph Alawode: Your studio name is really catchy, different in a way and vey unique. talkless of your work, you've got beautiful work... good job.... it's such a joy when you see those little ones, expecially when you photograph them...

If you’re going to spend 12+ hours at the fair, today was the day to do it. I was a little worried at the Woodbury Days kickoff last night when it was muggy and rainy and verrry windy (vinyl tent sides are not so sturdy) but the weather shaped up over night and today was gorgeous. Perfect day for fair-going and I love a lovely pink farmer tan to show for it.

I had an awesome time at my booth! Tons of previous clients, photographer and non-photographer friends came out to visit and it was great to get to see so many people again. I also met tons of new people – engaged people, expecting people, little ones and even littler ones, grandparents, folks whose “children” were dogs and even some folks who recognized their friends on the wall. I am so excited to do the drawing for the free session winner on Monday because there were so many cute, cute, cute kids who I’d love to photograph! Several of the other photographers with booths at the fair also stopped in and introduced themselves and it was great to get to meet them as well.

I had lots of artists help me decorate the outside of my booth.

I’ll be at Woodbury Days again tomorrow from 10-5 so if you haven’t stopped by yet, you should! I’ll be there with album samples, Christmas card samples, my bucketful of chalk…and this time some sunscreen, I think. See you then!

Sarah: Great job, Mandy! Your photos looked just gorgeous printed in large sizes.

Heidi Fazio: WOW!!! your set up looks incredible!!

Shannon Dodds: WOW! We had a blast hanging out! You did a wonderful job with your booth! It was also nice meeting your fam! Thanks again...

Christy: Your booth looks wonderful!! Your gonna be one busy girl after this!!

Ben: nice work MK! everything looked great yesterday....have another great 7 hours today! peace

Daniel Snow: Looks awesome, Mandy!

Betsy: Wow, this is so awesome, Mandy. Way to put yourself out there - I hope you get a great return!

Woodbury Family | Glimpses of Soul Photography: [...] first met this Woodbury family when Mom and Miss A stopped by my booth at Woodbury Days. I hadn’t even finished setting up and was a bit disheveled so I was flattered that they [...]

Certain persons who shall remain nameless have been giving me a hard time about lack of updates. It really hasn’t been that long! But it’s true, I’ve been a bit remiss and a lot busy. The good news is that I took a load of packages to the post office today so you just might find some photos in your mailbox soon. That being said, something “fun and fresh” was requested so here we go.

This is Mikey and his sons Adam and Landon. We met Mikey while we were in Virginia, he works at The Homestead. The morning after we met him, he brought his kiddos in on his day off so that we could photograph them before our flight. I have a sneaking suspicion that the photo above more accurately reflects their daily life than any of the other photos I took.

But seriously, how cute are these two?

I think Landon might be the smiliest baby I have ever seen. He didn’t stop smiling once during the entire session. Just smiles and giggles and those two little teeth.

Okay, maybe I got one photo of him not smiling but still plenty cute.

Adam’s plans didn’t really involve too much photography, but rather a lot of running around and a little bit of talking about Spiderman. Coaxing him to follow me as we walked through the hotel lobby, I said to him, “C’mon, goofy!” Adam says to me, and to pretty much everyone within a three mile radius, “I’M NOT GOOFY, I’M ADAM!!”

And here’s the thing about out of town sessions…

You can give those kids sticky sticky sweets to eat while wearing their best clothes because hey, you’re about to leave town and never come back!

But come on, can you blame us?

And now I’m back to editing but I’ll try to be better about posting. :)

Ben Dodds: I made your blog!! YEAH!!! Fun shots and love the last photo...so dang cute!! Alright, I'm off your back now!!! Good job!!!! later

Candy: Hey Mandy! These are absolutely Darling!! Nice work!
