Some familiar faces around the blog. This was my last session for Evan’s first year. Luckily, his big sister and I are scheming to go to the movies together so I’m sure I’ll see them all again sometime soon. :)

What a difference a year makes! Cass was 6 months when I first met him and a year at our second session.

Now he’s TWO! A little man. A little more serious, a little more wary and a lot more independent! We went back to the same Woodbury park for their session this year.

Cass is also a big brother now. But Mom and Dad are waiting until the little guy gets a bit older before he gets his own photo session.

Yikes. I was off the blog-grid for a bit longer than I intended to be. I have lots to share!

Vanessa is the niece of someone I know through roller derby, Orange Ruffy (the Mother of the Bride at the roller derby wedding!) We’ve been talking about a session for Vanessa for quite some time now but this little girl has gone through a lot in her one year. She was born with Hydrocephalus and a hole in her heart and has undergone surgeries and feeding tubes and stints and I’m sure all manner of things that I can’t even imagine. But she’s still a happy, smiley, determined little one year old, despite it all.

She was also very intent on sucking her thumb, sometimes both at the same time. I’d pull one gently from her mouth and she’d have the other one in there in a blink until I eventually acknowledged who won.

Orange Ruffy: I knew you were the girl for the job! These are beautiful. Thank you so much.

LK: Gorgeous photos. What a cutie she is!

Vanessa's Mom: I am in complete awww! You are an amazing photographer! I just cried at how beautifully you captured the moment. This is such a gift! Thank you!

.K: I love that last one. The colors are awesome.

tara k: oh goodness...she is just exquisite. REEEALLY pretty shots, my friend. :)

Leslie: The color on these is fantastic. And I love the proof that big brown eyes are just as luscious as the blue :)

Another session I recently donated was to the Twin Cities East chapter of Mothers & More to offer as a door prize at their open house. The timing was perfect as the winner’s daughter just turned one so we set up the session quickly and I got to go meet them right away. Such blue, blue eyes!

.K: Holy moly, look at those pretty eyes! Nice job, MK.

LK: Oceans of blue to sink right into! Beautiful job.

Mark Vice: I love it!

I met Brynlee’s mom at an expo last year and we talked about doing photos of their new baby then…a Great Dane puppy. Because of some puppy health issues, that never quite panned out but when they contacted me this year, they had a new baby to photograph. A people baby! Isn’t she cute?

LK: Irresistible!!! Baby and photos, especially the first one!

Candy: ohmygoodness! She is just PRECIOUS! Nice work Mandy! You are getting a reputation for being quite talented with these little ones!! ;-)

tara k: a people baby! you crack me up, girl. :) and holy cats, these are some kinda gorgeous shots. the eyelash one just blows me away. loveliness, my friend!

Ken Corbin: She looks like her grand father a beautiful Irish child...

Grandma Lori Corbin: Mandy, love the first one because that is truly Brynlee, she loves having her little hands around her face! One of the beautiful things about her (there are many!) are her eyes! I love how you captured her long eyelashes! Black and white photos are one of my favorites too, because you really "see" the subject without the colors interfering! These pictures are perfect...just like our sweet little Brynlee! Her Mommy and Daddy did good!!! Can't wait to see more!

christy: SO love these! Super scrumptious newborn. Beautiful work Mandy :)

Mary: Best baby burrito maker EVER! Love these.

JoAnne: beautiful

I’ve been anxious to post photos from this session because I love them! I was contacted by Grandma to set up this session. She had photos taken of her with each of her children when they were babies and wanted her daughter to have photos with her new grandson, too. Grandson, Kellen, was a little over three weeks during this shoot and what a difference a week or two can make! He was pretty wide awake for most of the session. Still, we were able to make some gorgeous images of him with his model-like mom.

Jen: Absolutely stunning. The third one takes my breath away.
