Casting Call!

I’ve partnered with a new event in town, the Minnesota Baby Expo, which will be held next spring. In preparation for the event, we’re doing a photo shoot on September 12th and possibly September 13th and we’re looking for models! We need children ages 1+ (must be able to walk) up to 15 and are especially looking for brown/black/red haired children. If you’re interested, please send an email with a bit of information about your child and a photograph to expo@glimpsesofsoul.com. If you’ve already replied to the newsletter, you don’t need to re-apply.

***OUT OF THE OFFICE***

I will be away from the office until after Labor Day. All emails, phone calls and other inquiries will be returned at that time. At this point, September 26/27th are the only September weekend morning appointments I have open. There are a couple of other weekend evening appointments and more flexibility during the week.

Mary Strohmayer: Mandy, I do happen to have the cutest nephew in the world with red hair! He has a dark auburn red but very much red and the cutest face in the country:) He is baby Vanessa's brother. Let me know if you need him. Mary aka, Orange Ruffy

This photo makes me laugh so much. We were doing family portraits on the front step and Elsie got up and walked straight towards me until her nose was touching the end of my lens. Here she is mid-trip and I love her expression. (Later in the session, she ran off with my macro lens and eventually demanded my camera, too…budding photographer, perhaps?)

Little Henry was a total trooper. Once he decided he’d be satisfactorily fed, he fell asleep quite quickly and even continued to sleep during Miss Elsie’s vigorous loving of her new baby brother.

I love that mom wheeled out this bassinet so that we could do some photos in there. How cute is Henry, all burrito-like in his fancy bassinet?

(Confession: Nearly every time I edit photos of a swaddled baby, Raffi’s song Baby Beluga pops into my head, except I sing Baby Burrito. The rest of the lyrics don’t work out so well but I spend way too much time with that song stuck in my head.)

.K: That first picture is adorable (well, ok, so are the others)

Heidi Fazio: BEAUTIFUL Mandy!! Love the last one in the bassinet!

Kristi Larson: How precious!

Orange Ruffy: It's a good thing I can't have anymore babies, you make them look so darn sweet angelic. then I remember they will be 16 some day and I feel better

Colette: I love these! The first, with the little girl, just cracks me up!

Alexa said she’d never really had any photos done of just her but she was so ready! She was so enthusiastic and we had a great time, hitting a bunch of different spots. She has lofty goals, this one, and I wish her the best!

It’s been just over a year since my last session with Miss Madeline and it was fun to see how she’s grown! (Also, she may or may not like pink.)

This year we headed to an apple orchard that they frequent and brought a picnic dinner. But that’s not all they brought…Madeline is now a proud big sister to, as she informed me, “The Evanator 2000.” Three months old and pretty content to just be.

The sun was coming through the apple trees and giving a red glow to this one so I liked the more muted processing. Mom and her boy. :)

And the best thing? The Evanator is on the Watch Me Grow program so I’ll be seeing them every three months. Love to see how these kiddos change!

Maria Hays: She is too cute, love her pink boots! Great family shots!

Rachel Clare: How I wish I lived near an orchard. These are lovely!

Matt: Great stuff as usual Mandy!

Vanessa Lam: Such sweetness and love...very beautiful. Great photos once again... : )

.K: Awww, such a cute family! Those umbrella shots rock!

Shirley Sater: So nice to have computers and be able to see family and watch their children grow. Love you guys!!!

I have loads of sessions coming up which I am extra excited about but it’s going to be a busy time so I’m trying to sneak some onto the blog every now and then. Kayla and her friend Jena (for another entry!) came together and boy did these girls know how to work it. That makes my job so easy. Of course, it also doesn’t hurt when they are gorgeous and have beautiful eyes, either. I only have time to post a few right now, but I do enjoy having a chance to photograph high school seniors in between my kids work – they’re so good at holding still. :)
