So it’s been awhile! I’m having some issues with my photo uploader which make the upload process take an annoyingly long time and I haven’t had time to tinker with it so I’ve been slacking on the blogging front.  I’ve been working on some fun behind-the-scenes stuff though in the meantime and I’ll be posting about that soon.

Working with this little fellow and his family was great fun. Their enthusiasm for the session was contagious and check out his great outfits and huge blue eyes.  Such a cutie.

Sara Montour: So adorable! Those eyes are amazing, and the light is gorgeous!

Kellie: I wonder if I can have one of those mobiles above my bed?

Ben Dodds: whazzzzzzzz uuuupppppppppp!!!!!!!

Ben Dodds: can you make my eyes blue too???

In the past couple of weeks, I’ve received several emails from other local photographers posing as potential clients in an effort to get location, pricing and other information from me. Can I be blunt for a moment? Totally lame, dudes! If you want to know something, just ask. I’m pretty open with my information and so are a good deal of other local photographers I know.  But it makes us less eager to share when you’re all shady about it. Plus it makes you gossip fodder for our get-togethers.  So let’s just be straightforward about this, okay? Excellent.

And now I am back to editing photos of this cutie:

Sara Montour: I 100% agree! And also, I love love love the processing on that photo! Hope to see you at the MN Photostars meetup on Wednesday! (and so excited for sushi (finally!) on Friday!)

Kellie: You, ma'am, are awful honest and I loves it!

Shelley P: Hi, I want senior photos, family photos, corporate head shots, my bar band and a wedding photographed in 2009. Can you send me your prices for all those things? And what camera do you use? ha ha! ;-)

Ben Dodds: I can see the look on your face as you were writing this.....I've probably received 3 calls in the past 2 months. If I suspect the "shadyness" then I just triple my pricing. You rock it out today!!!

Ben Dodds: My favorite is when I call a photographer to set up a time to meet with them and they never call me back....I love those as well!!! Have I mentioned that to you before, HA!!!

Michael: No, go the other way. Tell them you're rate is $200. $300 if they want the CD and full rights. Oh, and a full album for $5 per shot. What'll they do with that? Try to be competitive?

I popped down to Eagan last week to spend some time with the B Family.  Mr. J was quite happy to show me around, dance, read and otherwise have a playmate. Ms. G on the other hand was as mellow as could be. Check out the eyes on these kiddos…amazing!

When our session was over, I sat down on the floor to put my shoes on. J ran and got his shoes and came and sat on my lap, handing me a shoe to put on for him. Sadly, I did not steal him away…but I was tempted.

Kellie: Cuties!

Amanda Elkins: great eyes!! So cute!
