It’s been a bit cold around here. The kind of cold where it doesn’t make it all the way up to zero, where car doors are frozen shut and wearing a winter hat to bed doesn’t seem like such a crazy idea. I want to bring all the poor poofy birdies inside and warm them up. The fresh batches of snow daily are pretty look at from inside but who has time to stay home all the time, especially at this time of year? (I haven’t even started my Christmas shopping yet. At this rate, my family is going to be getting portraits of other families’ children as gifts.)
But on to the good news…
- All orders are out! Everything has been delivered or is en route via one method or another. The UPS man is sure to miss the sight of my side porch without daily deliveries from the print house. But I’m happy!
- The nominations are steadily rolling in for Giving is Awesome: A Holiday Giveaway. The stories are all so touching and I have no idea how I’m going to choose. I’d love to be able to work with all the nominees in some way and that is something I’m going to be giving some thought to.
I’ve also gotten some great help spreading the word about the project. Erica, who used to write for Minneapolis Metblogs, posted an entry about the project on her new site, fresh.mn, on Monday. Today, Justin Piehowski included a blurb about it in his new column, Blog Cabin. I really appreciate everyone’s support! There’s still plenty of time to nominate if you’d like.
And in other good news, my new hard drive is in and everything is still in working order. Geek success!

Jocelyn - beautiful photo! I love the colors.
Jocelyn - Oh, and it IS so cold here and we are supposed to get alot more snow – what is up with that!
Laurie - We had some of that cold weather of which you speak…almost two days of temps in the 20s and 30s. It’s supposed to be back into the 70s tomorrow or the next day. Sorry. ;)
.K - You know, there is this weird thing called a heater. And if you turn this little box on the wall, it turns the heat up. It’s crazy! Then you don’t have to wear a hat to bed. WOWWWOWOWOW! Technology is so cool.
mk - So sad, my money tree freezes over the winter so heating a drafty old house to balmy temperatures is out of the question.
